Resume: Millsboro-Delaware State Police during the last two weeks of January 2011 have conducted several search warrants and interviews as part of an ongoing investigation into Sussex County burglaries to seasonal residences.
Delaware State Police on January 16, 2011 placed Wilbur L. Medley III of Millsboro under arrest for outstanding court capiases. Medley was interviewed by Delaware State Police detectives and eventually implicated in 15 different burglaries in Lewes, Rehoboth and Millsboro seasonal communities.
On January 16, 2011 while Medley was in police custody Delaware State Police received information about persons removing property from a residence on Loganberry Lane Rehoboth. When Troopers arrived they detained individuals and during the course of their investigation recovered a stolen flat screen television, surround sound equipment and jewelry. These items were items taken during one of the above listed burglaries.
From the information obtained in the aforementioned investigation Delaware State Police executed additional search warrants at a Bunting Road and DuPont Boulevard Georgetown Delaware residences. During these searches 2 additional stolen televisions were recovered.
Delaware State Police while continuing their criminal investigation developed a second person responsible for committing approximately 20 other burglaries around the Millsboro area of Delaware. Delaware State Police on January 17, 2011 charged Michael A. Arcidiacono Jr. of Millsboro for burglaries committed on his own and also with the assistance of Medley.
During the previously mentioned burglaries which dated back to December of 2009 Medley and Arcidiacono forced entry into approximately 32 residences and or sheds and removed over 25 flat screen televisions, miscellaneous electronic equipment, power tools, jewelry, cash and prescription medication. Medley and Arcidiacono caused thousands of dollars worth of damage during their burglary spree. State Police detectives additionally learned that Medley and Arcidiacono were selling many of the items for money.
Wilbur L. Medley III is currently being held in Sussex Correctional Institute on $115,700 secured bond. Michael A. Arcidiacono Jr. is also being held in Sussex Correctional Institute on $30,000 cash bond.
