Resume:

Rehoboth Sea Side Outlets-Delaware State Police Thursday February 3, 2011 were called to the Sea Side Outlets Rehoboth Delaware for a shoplifting incident that occurred around 12:20 p.m.

Delaware State Police upon arriving on scene detained Edna Rideout for suspicion of shoplifting.  Other arriving Troopers were provided information about two additional shoplifters who fled prior to police arrival.

Delaware State Police after canvassing the outlet center parking lot received information from a citizen which led to the apprehension of Kesha Brown and Arius Marcelin.  Delaware State Police during their search checked the men’s bathroom and located Brown (female) and Marcelin inside.

Delaware State Police learned that Rideout, Brown and Marcelin were inside the Gymboree children’s store allegedly placing items into a Babies R US bag.  When the three were approached by a store representative they fled to their vehicle placing the Babies R US bag inside their car.  After placing the bag into the vehicle Rideout, Brown and Marcelin were observed entering another business.  The alert store representative obtained a description of the suspects, vehicle and registration information which assisted in the investigation.

The Gymboree representative assisted in identifying Rideout, Brown and Marcelin.  Delaware State Police searched Rideout’s vehicle and discovered items shoplifted from seven different outlet businesses.  Also recovered were a pair of wire cutters commonly used by shoplifters to cut off security devices from merchandise.

Rideout, Brown and Marcelin were all charged with Shoplifting and related charges.  Rideout was released on $6,000 unsecured bond, Brown was released after posting $4,000 secured bond and Marcelin was given a $4,000 secured bond then remanded to Sussex Correctional Institute.
