Georgetown-Delaware State Police Thursday February 3, 2011 investigated a fatal crash on DuPont Boulevard (US 113) N/O Governor Stockley Road S/O Georgetown around 8:51 a.m.

A Delaware State Police investigation revealed that a 1995 Ford dump truck driven by John R. Hall Jr-67 of Millsboro pulled out from a private drive onto DuPont Boulevard and began traveling southbound.  The second vehicle a 1992 Chevrolet S-10 pickup Driven by Donna L. Drummond-56 of Bridgeville was also southbound DuPont Boulevard approaching from behind.  The Chevrolet S-10 for an unknown reason then drove into the rear of the Ford dump truck. 

Donna L. Drummond died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. 

Although a preliminary Delaware State Police investigation suggests alcohol does not appear to have been a contributing factor a toxicology study will be completed.

DSP News Release:  Delaware State Police on Scene Serious Motor Vehicle Crash

Resume:

Georgetown-Delaware State Police and emergency services are currently on scene of a serious crash.  The crash is reported to be on DuPont Boulevard N/O Governor Stockley Road in the area of Melvin Joseph Construction Company. 

The crash is reported to involve a dump truck and a car.  Delaware State Police is currently investigating this crash and updated information will be disseminated as soon as it becomes available.  

Motorists are advised to expect delays and possible detours around the crash scene.
