Location Update:

  • SR 1 N/B and S/B the bridge is overtop of the Misipillion River.  This bridge is approximately .2 miles N/O Cedar Beach Road SR 36 Milford Delaware. 

 

 

DSP News Release:  Trooper Suffers Minor Injuries in Crash

Resume:

 Milford-Delaware State Police investigated a single vehicle crash involving a marked Delaware State Police cruiser, which occurred around 4:40 a.m. Tuesday morning. 

 

The crash began as a marked Delaware State Police cruiser was northbound on SR 1 crossing the William Roth Bridge Milford Delaware.  Due to black ice on the bridge the cruiser began to rotate counter clockwise and the operator then losing control.  The cruiser struck a bridge abutment then continued across a grassy median into the southbound lanes of travel.  The 3 year Troop 7 veteran was taken to Milford Memorial hospital for minor injuries treated and released.
