DSP News Release: Troopers Probe New Castle Strong Arm Robbery
Location: Wawa Convenience Store, 1515 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE

Resume: New Castle, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the strong arm robbery of a New Castle female that occurred early this morning.
The incident happened at approximately 1:20 a.m. this morning as a 44 year old New Castle, DE female and her 9 year old daughter were walking to the Wawa Store located in the 1500 block of N. DuPont Highway in New Castle. As the victims entered the rear parking lot of the store, they were approached by a male suspect who grabbed the 44 year old victim’s purse which she was carrying. After a brief struggle, the suspect was able to obtain the purse. He then fled on foot in a westbound direction towards the Hampton Walk Apartments. Neither victim was injured.
The Delaware State Police are asking anyone who may have any information in reference to this incident to contact the Robbery Unit at Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 ext. 6.
