DSP News Release: Attempted Robbery Canby Park Shopping Center
Location: · Canby Park Shopping Center (rear driveway behind the La Cabana Restaurant), 1900 Maryland Avenue, Wilmington, DE
Date of Occurrence: · Monday, December 26, 2011 at 3:10 p.m.
Victim: · 45 year old male
Suspect: · Black male, 20-30 years old, 5’06” tall, 150-175 lbs, average build. Last seen wearing dark hooded sweatshirt with hood pulled over his head, black jacket, and dark tan pants. · No surveillance photo’s available
Resume: Wilmington-Troopers are investigating the attempted robbery of a man that occurred at the Canby Park Shopping Center yesterday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:10 p.m. yesterday as the 45 year old male victim was walking in the rear driveway of Canby Park Shopping Center located on Maryland Avenue. The victim was confronted by a male suspect that implied that he had a gun and demanded money. The victim continued to walk to the front of the shopping center and the suspect fled on foot empty handed towards Bonwood Road. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
