DSP News Release: Gold Alert Issued for Missing Elderly Couple

Gold Alert Subjects: · Erling Schmidt-89 of Greenville, DE (photo attached) · White male, 6’0” tall, 165 lbs, gray hair, blue eyes · Unknown clothing description
· Angelina Schmidt-84 of Greenville, DE (photo attached) · White female, 5’03” tall, 107 lbs, gray hair, hazel eyes · Unknown clothing description
Gold Alert Vehicle:
Resume: Greenville-The Delaware State Police are investigating and issuing a Gold Alert for a missing elderly couple, last known to be traveling from Greenville to their final destination in Pennsylvania.
Troopers were contacted at 7:00 p.m. and initiated an investigation and search for an elderly Greenville couple that were traveling from the Stonegates Retirement Community in Greenville, to their daughter’s residence in Marion, Pennsylvania this afternoon for Christmas dinner, but never arrived.
Erling and Angelina Schmidt were last contacted at the Stonegates Retirement Community at 2:00 p.m. with a normal drive time to their destination of 25-30 minutes. The couples usual route of travel to Marion, PA is RT 141 northbound, to US 202 northbound into Pennsylvania, to RT 1 eastbound to their final destination in Marion, PA. The couple is driving in a 2002 Volvo S60 Sedan, gray in color, DE Registration #209148.
Troopers have been unable to locate the couple and there is a concern for their safety and welfare.
