TROOPERS INVESTIGATE ROBBERY ON DART BUS


DSP News Release: Troopers Investigate Robbery on DART Bus 

 

Location:

·         Dart Bus #33 traveling on E. Chestnut Hill Road, Newark

 

Date of Occurrence:

·         Saturday, December 17, 2011 between 2:15 p.m. -3:00 p.m.

 

Victim:

·         23 year old Newark man

 

Suspect:

·         White male, 30-35 years old, 5’07”-5’09” tall, full beard. Last seen wearing light gray jacket (no further description available)

·         No surveillance photo’s available at this time.

 

Resume:

Newark-Troopers are investigating the robbery of a 23 year old commuter on a DART bus that occurred on Saturday in Newark.

 

The incident occurred on Saturday, December 17, 2011 between 2:15 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. as the 23 year old male victim was riding on DART bus Route #33 in the area of E. Chestnut Hill Road, Newark.  The victim was approached by a male suspect that sat next to him, and engaged him in a conversation.  The suspect placed his hand under his jacket, implied that he had a gun and demanded money from the victim.  The victim complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect was last seen exiting the bus at the Morgan Crossing Apartments located at Chestnut Crossing Drive, Newark.  There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
