MAN CHARGED IN NEW CASTLE STABBING


DSP News Release: Man Charged In New Castle Stabbing

 

Location:

·         Diamond State Warehouse (rear parking lot), 300 Pigeon Point Road, New Castle, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:  

·         Sunday, December 11, 2011 at 11:30 p.m.

 

Victim:

·         47 year old Newark man

 

Defendant/Charges/Bond Information: 

·         Michael R. Brock Sr.-58 of Wilmington, DE (photo attached)

·         Assault First Degree

·         Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony

·         Committed to HRYCI on $50,000 Secured Bond

 

Resume:

New Castle-Troopers have charged Michael R. Brock Sr-58 of Wilmington in connection with a late evening assault that occurred in the parking lot of the Diamond State Warehouse, which has left a 47 year old man in serious condition.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. last evening as Michael R. Brock Sr. and the 47 year old male victim were involved in a physical altercation in the rear parking lot of the Diamond State Warehouse.  Brock produced an unknown type knife and stabbed the victim multiple times in the upper body, including the back, arm, and neck.  Brock fled in a silver vehicle on Pigeon Point Road. Responding Troopers were able locate the fleeing vehicle on Pigeon Point Road and performed a vehicle stop. Brock was taken into custody without incident.

 

The victim was transported by ambulance to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where he was admitted in serious condition.

 

Brock and the victim are reported to be truck drivers for the Diamond State Warehouse.  It is unknown at this time as to what precipitated the altercation.

Brock was charged with the above crimes and committed to HRYCI on $50,000 Secured bond.
