MILLSBORO MAN CHARGED IN DRUG INVESTIGATION

DSP News Release: Millsboro Man Charged in Drug Investigation

Arraigned at JP Court 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution for lack of $18,500.00 secured bail.
Resume: Millsboro, DE- A Millsboro man has been arrested on drug charges after a two week investigation into illegal drug sales from his residence and an ice cream truck.
The Investigation began after detectives from the Sussex County Drug Unit received information that Merrill J. Weatherly, 47, was involved in illegal drug sales from his home located in the 24000 block of Cerulean Lane, Millsboro. It was also learned that Weatherly was conducting drug sales in the Oak Orchard area as he was operating an ice cream truck that he owned.
On Friday, December 9th, Sussex Drug Unit detectives obtained a search warrant of Weatherly’s home and ice cream truck. They then conducted a traffic stop of Weatherly’s ice cream truck, described as a 1977 GMC, as he was leaving his residence, with the assistance of the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force. During the search of the vehicle and Weatherly officers located 17 Oxycodone tablets and over $970.00 in suspected drug sale proceeds. They then conducted a search of his residence at which time they located 6 Suboxone strips.
Merrill Weatherly was arrested and charged with the above list of crimes. He was arraigned at JP Court 3 and committed to the Department of Corrections for lack of bail.
