PIZZA DELIVERY ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED

DSP News Release: Pizza Delivery Robbery Suspect Arrested
Location: 1600 block of John Clark Road, Rodney Village, Dover, DE
Date of Occurrence: Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:00 p.m.
Defendant and Crimes:
Arraigned at JP Court 7 and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Institution for lack of $42,000.00 secured bail.

Resume: Dover, DE- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Dover man after he robbed a delivery driver of his pizzas late last night.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Monday as a 39 year old Magnolia, DE man had been sent by a local pizza restaurant to deliver a pizza in the 1600 block of John Clark Road in the Rodney Village development in Dover. As the driver was sitting in his car looking for the address he was sent to, he was approached by a male subject, later identified as Robert W. Allen Jr. The victim then exited his car carrying two pizzas and was then confronted by Allen who produced a razor style knife from his pocket. Allen then told the victim that he was going to take the pizzas, at which point the victim placed the pizzas on the ground. Allen then picked up the pizzas and walked away. The victim, who was not injured, then called the 9-1-1 call center and provided a description of Robert Allen. A short time later, responding troopers were able to locate him in the development and took him into custody without incident.
Troopers charged Robert Allen with the above list of crimes. He was arraigned at JP Court 7 and then committed to the Department of Corrections for lack of $42,000.00 secured bail.
