DSP News Release: Traffic Advisory with Road Closure Lewes

Location:

• Plantations Road at Robinsonville Road, Lewes, DE

Date of Occurrence:

• Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 11:15 p.m.

Resume:

Lewes-Troopers are currently on scene of a single vehicle crash with road closure in Lewes.

Preliminary information indicates that a single vehicle ran off of the roadway striking a large propane tank.  There are no reported injuries at this time, but it has been determined that the propane tank is leaking. Firefighters are on scene attempting to contain the leak.

Troopers are advising that Plantations Road at Robinsonville Road will remain closed for an extended period of time.  Troopers are advising motorists to avoid the area completely and plan alternate routes.  An updated release will be provided as information related to the crash investigation becomes available.
