Resume: Marydel- The Delaware State Police have arrested two Marydel, DE men after finding a marijuana growing operation in their home yesterday morning.
The incident began at approximately 11:45 a.m. yesterday, August 26, after troopers were told to respond to a residence in the 3900 block of Sandy Bend Road, Marydel, DE in reference to a domestic incident. Upon their arrival, troopers learned that a 23 year old Dover, DE female and a 23 year old subject, who lives at the residence, had been involved in a physical domestic altercation. The female advised troopers that the male subject, later identified as David Nolette, had assaulted her. She further advised troopers that David Nolette and his father, Michael Nolette, 57, also had a marijuana growing operation in the basement of the home. Troopers took David Nolette into custody without incident. A subsequent search of his person revealed that he was in possession 5.1 grams of powder cocaine.
Shortly thereafter, Michael Nolette, 57, who also resides in the home, arrived at the residence. Troopers then obtained permission from Michael Nolette to search the residence. While conducting the search, troopers came upon a locked basement door, but were advised by Michael Nolette that he did not know where the keys to the door were located. After further investigation troopers learned that the key to the locked basement door was possibly located in the pick up truck that Michael Nolette had been operating. The investigating officers then took Michael Nolette into custody after a brief struggle. They then obtained a search warrant for the residence as well as Michael Nolette’s truck. During the subsequent search, investigating officers located 6 marijuana plants (2,198 grams), 19 doses of Diazepam, 26 doses of Lunesta, 6 doses of Oxycodone, 2 Remington rifles, a Winchester rifle, and a Remington shotgun.
Michael and David Nolette were both arrested and charged with the above list of crimes. Michael Nolette was arraigned at JP Court 3 and released unsecured bail. David Nolette was also arraigned at JP Court 3 and then committed to the Department of Corrections after failing to post $17,500.00 secured bail.
