DSP News Release: Troopers Probe Convenience Store Robbery

 

Location: Wawa, 301 Ridge Road, Claymont, DE

 

Date of Occurrence:  Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 4:00 a.m.

 

Suspect:    White male, 5’10”-6’00” tall, 150-165 lbs, with an average build. He was also armed with an automatic hand gun.

 

Victim:  29 year old male clerk

Claymont- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the early morning robbery of a Claymont convenience store.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 4:00 a.m. today as a male suspect entered the Wawa convenience store located in the 300 block of Ridge Road in Claymont. The suspect displayed a hand gun and pointed it at a 29 year old employee of the store. He then threatened the employee and demanded money from the store register. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect. The suspect then fled from the store and was last seen running in a westbound direction. The clerk was not injured.
