Resume: New Castle- The Delaware State Police have arrested two New Castle youths and are looking for a third in connection with the attempted burglary of an area deli that occurred early this morning.
On Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at approximately 12:50 a.m., a Delaware State Police trooper responded to Dom’s Deli, located in the 100 block of Christiana Road (Rambleton Shopping Center), in New Castle, in reference to a burglary alarm that had been activated. Upon his arrival the trooper observed that the glass to the front door of the business had been partially broken out. The trooper also observed three male subjects walking away from the shopping center and was able to take one of them, a 15 year old male, into custody. Through further investigation troopers were able to link the 15 year old to the attempted break in and were also able develop two 17 year old New Castle males as suspects in the crime as well.
Troopers responded to a residence located in the unit block of E. Balbach Avenue in the Rambleton Acres development, where they were able to take one of the 17 year olds into custody. They were, however, unable to locate the second 17 year old male.
The two male subjects in custody were both arrested and charged with the above list of crimes. They were arraigned at JP Court 11 and released on $10,500.00 unsecured bail. Troopers have obtained warrants charging the second 17 year old male with the same crimes.
