Resume: Leipsic, De-Delaware State Police Monday August 22, 2011 charged David C. McNatt-47 of Leipsic Delaware with the sexual assault of a 48 year old Kent County woman.
The incident occurred Sunday August 21st around 5:00 p.m., in a field in the 100 block of Second Street Leipsic Delaware. State Police detectives learned the victim met McNatt initially at a private business on Pearson’s Corner Road Hartly Delaware where he was finishing a “seal coating” job.
McNatt, the victim and an unidentified male next drove to a nearby liquor store and later to the area of Leipsic. The unidentified male dropped McNatt and the victim off in Leipsic then drove off.
After McNatt and the victim were alone he grabbed the victim by the arms, pulling her into a field where he sexually assaulted her.
The victim was treated and released from Kent General Hospital for injuries sustained during the assault.
On Monday August 22nd investigators and the victim went out to the Leipsic area to survey the crime scene when they observed McNatt in his yard. McNatt was taken into custody and charged with 1 count of Rape Second Degree.
McNatt was arraigned and remanded to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $20,000 cash bond.
