SIX SUFFER MINOR INJURIES IN THREE VEHICLE CRASH


DSP News Release:  6 Suffer Minor Injuries in 3 Vehicle Crash

 Resume:

Dover, De-Delaware State Police Sunday afternoon investigated a 3 vehicle crash which sent 6 persons to Kent General Hospital with minor injuries. 

 

The crash occurred at the intersection of E. Lebanon and N. Old Mill Roads Dover Delaware around 1:21 p.m. and closed the roadway for over 2 hours while the crash was being investigated.

 

The crash investigation revealed that a 1992 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by a 17 year old Dover teen was traveling eastbound on E. Lebanon Road.  The teen driver was driving at an excessive speed and was unable to stop in time for a red light. 

 

The Ford pickup slid into the intersection colliding with a 2007 Nissan Quest which was traveling southbound from N. Old Mill Road.  The Nissan driven by Paul A. Brooks-69 of Dover and accompanied by his wife spun out of control before striking a third vehicle. 

 

The third vehicle a 2007 Honda CRV was traveling northbound on S. Old Mill Road when the Nissan Quest crashed into its frontend.  The driver of the Honda CRV is Jennifer Grunden-51 of Dover. 

 

The Ford pickup truck following the initial crash rolled onto its top and caught fire.  The 17 year old driver and two other occupants were able to escape the wreckage with only minor injuries. 

 

 All persons from all three of the vehicles involved in the crash were transported to Kent General Hospital for medical treatment and are expected to be released. 

 

State Police investigators cited the 17 year old driver with Driving at an Excessive Speed and Disregarding a Red Light.
