Resume: Camden, De-Delaware State Police Thursday August 18, 2011 investigated a 3 vehicle crash that sent 10 people to the hospital for medical treatment.
The crash occurred on Willow Grove Road W/O Camden Delaware around 10:43 Thursday morning. The investigation revealed that a 1991 Ford pickup truck driven by Julio Guzman-20 of Camden was stopped due to road construction westbound on Willow Grove Road. A 1998 Jeep Cherokee driven by Brian Carey-28 of Felton was also stopped westbound Willow Grove Road directly in front of the Ford pickup.
Ashley L. Kountz-31 of Felton was driving her 2005 Dodge Neon westbound Willow Grove Road approaching the stopped traffic. Kountz failed to stop in time and crash into the rear of the Ford pickup truck, which then struck the rear of the 1998 Jeep Cherokee.
As a result of the crash a total of 10 persons were transported to Kent General Hospital where they were treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.
Ashley Kountz after being released from the hospital was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Vehicular Assault, Driving under the Influence of Alcohol and 6 other traffic related offenses.
Kountz has been remanded to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institute on $25,160 cash bond.
