Resume

Wilmington- Delaware State Police detectives have arrested a Newark man in connection with the burglaries of two area music stores that have occurred over a three week period.

The incident began at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 2011, in the 5000 block of Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington, when a Delaware State Trooper on routine patrol observed that the glass to the front door of the Accent Music Store had been smashed out. The Trooper, who is assigned to Troop 6, Prices Corner, entered the parking lot of the store and pulled her patrol vehicle behind a brown Dodge Dakota which was occupied by a male subject. The Dakota then fled from the lot with the trooper following it. After a short vehicle pursuit, the subject exited the car and fled on foot in the area of Harmony Road and Ruthar Drive in Newark. He was, however, quickly apprehended. During a subsequent search of the Dodge Dakota, troopers recovered three Gibson guitars valued at over $3000.00 which were determined to have been stolen from Accent Music.

Detectives were also able to link the subject, later identified as Christopher Sulo, to the burglary of the DS Music store located in the 1100 block of Ogletown Road in Newark, which occurred on Monday, August 1, 2011. During that incident, Sulo also smashed out the glass to the front door of the business. He then entered the store and removed three guitars valued at approximately $2000.00 from display and then fled.

Sulo was arrested and charged with the above list of crimes. He was arraigned at JP Court #2 and released on $6100.00 unsecured bail.

        Christopher Sulo
