DOVER MAN CHARGED WITH ADDITIONAL CRIMES AGAINST 3 YEAR OLD VICTIM


Dover Man Charged with Additional Crimes against 3 year old Victim

Resume Update:

Dover-Mark A. Miller-20 of Dover has been charged again by Delaware State Police for additional crimes committed against a 3 year old Dover child.  Miller was initially arrested Wednesday August 3rd for assault on the 3 year old toddler.  

 

Wednesday August 10th Miller was charged with 1 count of Assault by Abuse or Neglect and 2 counts each of Assault Second Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

 

State Police Detectives during the course of their investigation discovered the 3 year old victim on July 17, 2011 was dropped by Miller in a shower at his residence.  As a result of the fall the victim suffered a fractured arm.  Miller is alleged to have denied the 3 year old child medical treatment of approximately 4 ½ weeks.   

 

Additionally Miller on another occasion swatted the victim on the hand with a flyswatter causing swelling and bruising. 

 

Miller was arraigned on the new charges and remanded to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $53,000 cash bond.

 Resume:

Dover-Delaware State Police Wednesday August 3rd charged Mark A. Miller-20 of Dover after investigating an assault complaint.  The assault occurred in the 100 block of Mast Circle Dover Delaware Tuesday evening around 5:00 p.m.

 

The investigation revealed that Miller was providing child care for the victim on Tuesday August 2nd.  The child began jumping on the bed where Miller was lying and was asked to stop by Miller. 

 

When the child continued to jump, Miller kicked the child causing him to fall from the bed striking his head on a car seat.   The victim sustained a severe laceration to his head which required 6 staples. 

 

Miller was charged with Assault Second Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  Miller was arraigned and released after posting $2,500 secured.
