ARREST MADE IN NEW CASTLE CHECK N GO ROBBERY

DSP News Release: Arrest Made In New Castle Check N Go Robbery
Location: Check N Go, 1509 Beaver Brook Plaza, New Castle, DE
Date of Occurrence: Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 1:40 p.m.
Victim: 23 year old female clerk

Resume: New Castle-Delaware State Police Robbery Detectives have arrested a New Castle man in connection with the robbery of a New Castle check cashing business that occurred on Thursday, July 28, 2011.
The incident occurred on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at approximately 1:40 p.m. as a male suspect entered the Check N Go located at 1509 Beaver Brook Plaza, New Castle. The suspect displayed a silver handgun and confronted a 23 year old female clerk. He then demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money from the clerk. The male suspect then left the business and was last seen fleeing toward the development of Llangolen Green. The clerk was not injured.
Through further investigation, Troop 2 Robbery Detectives were able to connect Jason Hayward-21 of New Castle to the robbery.
The investigation culminated on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 with a search warrant of Hayward’s residence located in the 500 block South Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE. During the execution of the search warrant, Hayward attempted to flee by jumping out of a second story window of the residence where he was met by Troopers on the ground and immediately taken into custody.
Hayward was arrested and charged with the above crimes. He was arraigned and committed to HRYCI for lack of $78,550 Cash Bond.

DSP News Release: Robbery Detectives Seek Public’s Help
Location: Check N Go, 1509 Beaver Brook Plaza, New Castle, DE
Date of Occurrence: Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 1:40 p.m.
Suspect: Black male, 25-30 years of age, 5’10”-6’00” tall. He was last seen wearing a red short sleeved button up shirt, blue khaki shorts, a New York Yankees baseball cap, and sunglasses. He was also armed with a silver handgun.

Resume: New Castle- The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect who robbed a check cashing business early this afternoon in New Castle.
