DE#896 between US#40 and Old Baltimore Pike has been reopened for traffic in both directions.  Motorists should expect delays as the volume of traffic clears. 

 

The crash is still being investigated with one confirmed fatality involving a motorcycle.  Investigative details to be released later tonight.

DSP News Release: Preliminary Release of Serious Motor Vehicle Crash with Road Closure

Newark-The Delaware State Police are currently on-scene of a serious motor vehicle crash in the area of South College Avenue (DE#896) and Four Seasons Parkway, Newark.

 

Troopers are advising that DE#896 is closed in both directions between US#40 and Old Baltimore Pike.  Motorists are advised to avoid the area completely and plan alternate routes.  Updated information will be provided as information related to the crash investigation becomes available.
