DSP News Release: Detectives Probe Parking Lot Shooting

Location: Parking lot of the Key Supply Company, 3500 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE

Date of Occurrence:  Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 11:00 p.m.

Suspect: No known suspects at this time.

Victim: 21 year old Wilmington, DE man

Wilmington- Delaware State Police detectives are investigating a shooting which occurred late last night in the parking lot of a Lancaster Pike business.

At approximately 11:55 p.m. last night, Tuesday, the Delaware State Police responded to the Cannery Shopping Center located in the 3300 block of Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, for the report of a shooting. The victim of the shooting, a 21 year old Wilmington, DE man, would not cooperate with detectives and provided very little information as to what had occurred. The victim was transported to the Christiana Hospital in Newark where he was being treated for non life threatening injuries to his lower extremity.
