Resume:

Lincoln-Delaware State Police are investigating an early morning crash which claimed the life of a Greenwood Delaware man.  The crash occurred on Clendaniel Pond Road E/O Greentop Road Lincoln Delaware around 4 a.m.

Matthew B. Clark-24 of Greenwood was driving his 1994 Lincoln Town Car eastbound on Clendaniel Pond road and was approaching a sharp bend in the roadway.  Clark failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway and his vehicle traveled off the north side of Clendaniel Road. 

Clark was unable to regain control of his vehicle and veered into a large tree.  Clark died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. 

A preliminary Delaware State Police investigation suggests alcohol to have been a contributing factor in the crash. 

The Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit is requesting anyone who may have additional information surrounding this crash to call 302-644-5020 ext 112.
