MAN CUT AND STABBED DURING DOMESTIC ASSAULT


DSP News Release: Man Cut and Stabbed during Domestic Assault

 

Location: PC Nails, 1702 W. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE

 

Dates of Occurrence:   Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 3:30 p.m.

 

Defendant: Van Vu, 37, Bear, DE

 

Victim:

 

-38 year old Bear, DE man

 

Charges:

 

-Assault 2nd Degree

-Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony

 

Resume:  

Wilmington- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Bear woman after she cut and stabbed her husband during a domestic related incident yesterday afternoon.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday as a 38 year old Bear, DE man was leaving the PC Nails located in the 1700 block of W. Newport Pike, Wilmington. The male victim was confronted by his wife, Van Vu, who began arguing with him. During the argument, Vu produced a 12 inch kitchen knife and lunged at the victim who grabbed the blade of knife causing him to receive a large cut on his hand. Vu then produced a cuticle cutter which she used to stab the victim in the cheek. The victim was able to run to his car and flee the area. He then drove himself to the Limestone Medical Center located where he was treated for the cut to his hand as well as a puncture wound to his face.

 

Investigating troopers responded to Van Vu’s residence where she was taken into custody without incident. She was then arrested and charged with one count each of Assault 2nd Degree and Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony. Vu was arraigned at JP Court 11 and released after posting $13,000.00 secured bail.
