Resume Update 04/26/11:

Harrington-Delaware State Police detectives have charged two Milford men with Kidnapping, Burglary, Robbery and 3 other crimes related to a February 27th Home Invasion. 

 

The crime occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Woodyard Road E/O Harrington Delaware, when two masked men invaded the home of a 61 year old woman.  Once inside the residence the suspects demanded money, and then bound the victim by her hands and ankles.  The victim was not seriously harmed.   

 

The suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of United State currency and fled the residence.  The victim was eventually able to free herself and notify police around 8:47 p.m.

 

In mid April Delaware State Police detectives obtained investigative information about the suspects involved in the crime.  State Police detectives were able to link Walter C. Seitz-33 and Joseph R. Ruark-28 both of Milford to the February Home Invasion. 

 

Today, Walter Seitz and Joseph Ruark are being charged with Kidnapping, Burglary, Robbery, wearing a mask during the commission of a felony, Conspiracy and criminal mischief. 

 

Seitz and Ruark have been incarcerated at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center since March 2011 for unrelated crimes.  Seitz and Ruark after being arraigned were both remanded to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center each on $37,500 secured bond.

DSP News Release:  Troopers Investigate Greenwood Home Invasion

·         2 white males, approximately 30 years of age, both wearing masks (No further description available)

 

Resume:  

Greenwood-Delaware State Police Detectives are investigating a home invasion that occurred on Sunday night in Greenwood, Delaware.

 

On Sunday, February 27, 2011 9:15 p.m. Troopers responded to a residence on Woodyard Road, Greenwood, for a reported home invasion.  Upon arrival at the residence, Troopers discovered the front door forced open and a female victim bound with rope inside the residence.

 

Investigation revealed that the female victim was asleep at the time of the burglary and was confronted by the 2 male suspects who proceeded to bind her legs with rope and demand money.  The victim complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of money.  The suspects then fled the residence.
