Wilmington- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Wilmington man and his girlfriend after executing a search warrant of his residence following a domestic related investigation.

On Wednesday, April 20, at approximately 1:15 p.m., troopers were called to respond to the Home Depot store located in the 3600 block of Miller Road, Wilmington, in reference to the report of a male subject with a gun. Upon their arrival, investigating officers were contacted by a 32 year old Bear, DE man and a 28 year old Claymont, DE man, both employees of the Home Depot. Both subjects advised troopers that a male subject had confronted them in the parking lot of the business. The victim advised that the subject, later identified as Alex Ryle, 24, was the boyfriend of one of their co-workers, Shamyra Miller, and was upset that they had given her a ride to her residence. As Ryle was confronting the two victims, he responded to his vehicle and produced a silver handgun, which he then placed in the waistband of his pants. Ryle again confronted the victims while displaying the handgun, however, fled the lot shortly thereafter. The victims were able to provide troopers with a description of Ryle as well as a description of the vehicle he had been operating, a blue Ford Taurus. Troopers also questioned Shamyra Miller about the identity of her boyfriend, however, she refused to cooperate. On Thursday, April 21, 2011, troopers arrested Miller on one charge of Hindering Prosecution for her refusal to provide information on the identity and location of Alex Ryle. She was arraigned at JP Court 2 and released on $500 unsecured bail.

During the subsequent investigation, troopers located a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle that Alex Ryle had been operating in the area of E 24th Street and Bowers Street, in Wilmington. A search of the vehicle revealed paperwork belonging to Ryle and troopers were able to positively identify him as the subject who had threatened the two victims at the Home Depot.

This morning, April 22, at approximately 6:00 a.m. the Delaware State Police Special Operation Response Team (SORT) responded to Alex Ryle’s home located in the 1300 block of E. 24th Street, where he was taken into custody without incident. Shamyra Miller was also present at the residence. A subsequent search of the home revealed a glass pipe used to smoke crack cocaine as well as a digital scale.

Shamyra Miller and Alex Ryle were both arrested and charged with the above list of crimes. Miller was arraigned at JP Court 11 and released on $700.00 unsecured bail. Alex Ryle was arraigned at JP Court 11 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Facility for lack of $29,000.00 secured bail.
