LEWES MAN FACING FORGERY CHARGES


DSP News Release: Lewes Man Facing Forgery Charges

Rehoboth Beach-State Police on Thursday April 21st have charged Kirk A. Batholomew-20 of Lewes for theft and forgery crimes. 

 

Delaware State Police after being contacted by the 44 year old victim were advised of suspicious withdrawals from the victim’s account.  The victim advised he contacted two banks which he holds an account with and discovered numerous checks totaling $9,130 had been withdrawn from his accounts. 

 

The victim additionally learned that most of the checks were written to persons unknown to him.  The victim however did locate checks paid to Kirk Bartholomew a former employee.  Bartholomew lived with the victim between March and December of 2010 and is alleged to have stolen the checks during this time period and subsequently used the checks to obtain money. 

 

State Police investigators prepared arrest warrants against Bartholomew charging him with 21 crimes related to Forgery and theft.  Thursday April 21st Bartholomew was arraigned on charges and released on $20,000 unsecured bond.
