UPDATE ARREST MADE IN APARTMENT HALLWAY ROBBERY

Dover-Delaware State Police detectives have charged a 16 year old Dover teen with a knife point robbery that occurred April 10, 2011 in the hallway of the Premier Village Apartments around 11:40 p.m. (Premier Village is formerly Generals Green Apartments)

 

State Police detectives Wednesday April 20, 2011 were in the area of Premier Village Apartments investigating an unrelated theft complaint; which would eventually link the Dover teen to the April 10th robbery. 

 

Thursday April 20, 2011 10:10 a.m. (Theft of a Purse)

Dover-The 16 year old teen described in the robbery complaint above is also the teen that will be described as the teen who takes the victim’s purse in this investigation. 

 

The crime on April 20th involved the theft of purse from the apartment of a 59 year old Dover woman.  The investigation revealed that the 16 year old teen approached the victim and initially solicited money from the victim in order to ride a local transit bus. 

 

The teen then asked the victim for a drink of water.  The victim allowed the teen into her apartment.  When the victim turned to obtain the glass of water, the teenager snatched the victim’s purse and fled. 

 

During the course of the investigation several Good Samaritans/ alert citizens provided pertinent information which led Troopers to the identification of 3 teenage suspects involved in the theft.  Following the theft, the 16 year old teen who snatched the purse met up with two other suspects’ ages 16 and 19.  It is alleged that the three teenagers then divided up the money that was found inside the victim’s purse.

 

The three teenagers involved in the purse snatching were all arrested on misdemeanor theft and conspiracy charges.  The 16 year old teen was subsequently charged with robbery, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing (April 10th crime), theft and conspiracy third (April 20th crime).  The Dover teen was arraigned and remanded to Stevenson Detention Center on $27,500 secured bond.  The other 16 and 19 year old teens were each released on $1000.00 unsecured bond.

  • black male, 18-30 year of age, 5’08”-5’10”, 165-185 lbs, wearing a mask

 

 Resume:

Dover-Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery; which occurred late Sunday evening in the hallway of the 200 building of the Premier Village Apartments Dover Delaware.

 

The investigation revealed that the victim had just returned home from the store and entered his apartment building.  The victim placed down bags in order to open his apartment door when he was approached from behind by the suspect.

 

The suspect displayed a large knife, held it to the victim neck and demanded money.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of money and fled the apartment building.  The victim was not harmed.

 

The suspect could only be described as a black male, 18-30 year of age, 5’08”-5’10”, 165-185 lbs, wearing a mask.
