CHESTER MAN CHARGED IN THE ASSAULT OF HIS SISTER


DSP News Release: Chester Man Charged in the Assault of His Sister

 

Location:  Fairview Inn, 1051 S. Market Street, New Castle, DE

 

Date of Occurrence: Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 2:30 a.m.

 

Victim:  23 year old New Castle, DE woman

 

Defendant:  Mohamed I. Ally, 32, Chester, PA  

 

Charges: 

 

-Assault 2nd Degree

-Aggravated Menacing

-Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony

-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

 

Resume:  

New Castle- The Delaware State Police have arrested a 32 year old Chester, PA man after he assaulted and stabbed his sister during a domestic altercation early this morning in New Castle.

 

The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning as a 23 year old New Castle woman responded to the room she was renting at the Fairview Inn located in the 1000 block of S. Market Street, New Castle, after getting off of work. As the victim entered the room, she confronted her brother who was in the room, about his drug use. The victim and her brother, later identified as Mohamed I. Ally, became involved in a verbal altercation that soon became physical. Ally began punching the victim in the face, and at one point, stabbed her in the leg with a small pocketknife. He then continued punching the victim, knocking her unconscious. After the victim regained consciousness, she called 9-1-1.

 

The victim was transported from the scene to the Wilmington Hospital where she was treated for her injuries. Troopers took Mohamed Ally into custody at the motel and arrested him for the above list of crimes. He was arraigned at the Court of Common Please and then committed to the Howard Young Correctional Facility for lack of $27,500.00 cash bail.
