Resume: Wilmington- The New Castle County Governor’s Task Force has arrested two subjects for numerous drug and weapons charges following the search of a residence late last night.
The incident occurred as members of the Governor’s task Force responded to a residence located in the 1200 block of Maryland Avenue, Wilmington, in order to conduct an administrative search of the home. The search was conducted by Probation and Parole Officers assigned to the Task Force, due to the fact that one of the residents, Alfonso Soto, is currently on probation. During the search, officers located a loaded 9 mm handgun along with over 140 rounds of ammunition for the gun in a bedroom closet. Officers also located a Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun which had been reported stolen to the Elsmere Police Department on April 6, 2011. A further search of the residence, which was also occupied by Rosalinda Figueroa, 22, revealed 366 grams of marijuana, 2 grams of cocaine, plastic bags used for packaging drugs, and $433.00 in suspected drug sale proceeds.
Alfonso Soto and Rosalinda Figueroa were both arrested and charged with the above list of crimes. They were both arraigned at JP Court 11. Soto was then committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution for lack of $85,500.00 cash bail. Figueroa was released after posting $76,500 secured bail.
