UPDATE ESCAPEE SURRENDERS:

Wilmington-Delaware State Police at 8:04 p.m. were contacted by authorities from Webb Correctional Center regarding Steven Byrd of Wilmington.  State Police have been advised that Steven Byrd has surrendered himself to Webb Correctional Center members. 

Webb Correctional Center Officers are expected to prepare an arrest warrant for Steven Byrd for Escape.

Suspect:

• Steven Byrd-22 900 block E. 17^th Street Wilmington, DE
• BM-22 5’09”, 178 lbs, short cropped hair
• Black T-shirt and dark shorts wearing eye glasses

Resume:

Wilmington-Delaware State Police are currently searching for Steven Byrd-22 who walked away from the Webb Correctional Center on Greenbank Road Wilmington Delaware just before 3 p.m.

Byrd is a black male who is approximately 5’09” and weighs 178 lbs.  Byrd was last seen leaving a nearby Sears Store where he appropriated a black t-shirt with unknown writing and a dark pair of shorts.  Byrd also wears glasses.   

Delaware State Police is asking anyone with information on Byrd’s whereabouts to contact authorities immediately.  Do not attempt to detain Byrd; however contact police.
