Resume:

Wilmington-Delaware State Police Thursday April 7th arrested Sherry W. Hensley-55 of Townsend Delaware for the theft of over $272,000 and also falsifying business records while she was employed by Concord Pet Food and Supplies.

A State Police investigation revealed Sherry Hensley was an employee of Concord Pet Food and responsible for picking up weekend deposits from 8 different stores throughout New Castle County and then depositing the proceeds into an area bank.

In January of 2011 Delaware State Police detectives were contacted by a Concord Pet Food representative who informed investigators of large sums of money missing from the company and the person possibly responsible.

Hensley between January 2010 and January 2011 is alleged to have made over 430 deposits; which included sums of cash and checks for Concord Pet Food and Supplies.  The missing money from the bank and what appeared to be fraudulent spreadsheets drew the suspicions of the pet store representatives.

Hensley was charged by Delaware State Police Fraud Unit investigators following the 4 month investigation for Theft over $100,000 and 14 counts of Falsifying Business Records.  Hensley was arraigned and released after posting $17,000 secured bond.
