Rehoboth Beach-The Mid-Atlantic Association of Women in Law Enforcement is pleased to announce the 2011 training symposium to celebrate the group’s 25th anniversary. The event will be held at the Atlantic Sands Hotel and Conference Center, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware April 4th through 7th, 2011.
The Mid-Atlantic Association of Women in Law Enforcement (MAAWLE) is comprised of women in law enforcement from Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. The organization is an affiliate of the International Association of Women Police.
The theme of the 2011 conference is Global Achievement Through Leadership and Personal Excellence with over 120 female members of various law enforcement agencies registered to partake in the conference. The goals of the conference include networking, exposure to contemporary training issues and the development of the leadership skills in the law enforcement profession.
Ms. Donna Bucella, the Assistant Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Intelligence and Operations will be the keynote speaker on Monday, April 4th, 2011 at 8:30 am, during Opening Ceremonies. Ms. Bucella has an extensive background in intelligence, law enforcement, terrorist screening and security. (The conference attendees will be in their respective agency uniform for the Opening Ceremony and ample photo opportunities will be available).
The training agenda is comprised of hands-on tactical training, workshops addressing various police related topics and a leadership panel discussion consisting of seven female executive police officers from six states.
