TWO MEN ARRESTED AFTER BURGLARY OF CLOSED RESTAURANT

DSP News Release: Two Men Arrested after Burglary of Closed Restaurant
Location: Steak and Ale, 4603 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE (no longer in business)
Date of Occurrence: Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.
Defendants:
-Jesse Streb, 37, Wilmington, DE
-Gerald F. Schorah, 26, Wilmington, DE
Charges: Burglary 3rd Degree, Attempted Theft, Conspiracy 2nd Degree, Possession of Burglary Tools
Resume: Wilmington- The Delaware State Police have arrested two Wilmington men in connection with the burglary of a closed restaurant located on Kirkwood Highway early last night.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Thursday as a witness called 9-1-1 to report a possible burglary in progress to the old Steak and Ale Restaurant located in the 4600 block of Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington. As troopers arrived on the scene they observed a male subject, later identified as Gerald F. Schorah, 26, sitting inside of a Ford Focus which was parked behind the closed Gulf Station adjacent to the Steak and Ale Restaurant. Schorah was waiting in the car for a second subject, later identified as Jesse Streb, 37, who was found hiding in a garbage dumpster in the rear of the restaurant. Further investigation revealed that Streb had entered the abandoned building and removed copper piping from a water heater inside in order to sell it as scrap metal.
Both Streb and Schorah were arrested and charged with the above list of crimes. They were arraigned and released on $4500.00 unsecured bail each.
