DSP News Release:  Pennsylvania Woman Injured in Rollover Accident

Wilmington- A 19 year old Pennsylvania woman was slightly injured following a one vehicle rollover accident in North Wilmington this morning.

A Delaware State Police investigation revealed that the accident occurred as Courtney Johnson, 19, was operating a 1998 Subaru and was traveling westbound on Beaver Valley Road at approximately 8:55 a.m. For an unknown reason, Johnson’s vehicle drifted off of the north edge of the roadway. Johnson then overcorrected her car and entered the eastbound lane of Beaver Valley Road. It then left the south edge of the road where it struck a pole and overturned.

Johnson was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Christiana Hospital where she is currently being treated for minor injuries. Johnson was cited for Failure to Maintain a Lane of Travel. Beaver Valley Road was closed for approximately 1.5 hours as the accident was investigated and cleared.
