DELAWARE STATE POLICE Facilities Management
The function of the Facilities Management Section is to oversee and make minor repairs of all facilities owed and occupied by the Division. Additionally, Facilities Management Section personnel serve as project manager and conduct quality control inspections and checks for DSP for minor capital improvements and construction projects.
The Section is also tasked with the routine maintenance of Divisional facilities throughout the state as well as the Headquarter’s building. Section personnel maintain Divisional facilities as well as oversee the activities of contracted maintenance services.
In 2005, the Troop 9 desk area was remodeled with ballistic glass and walls. Currently, all troops state-wide are ballistic proof to Grade 3. Furthermore, in 2005 Troop 1 and the Training Academy were the focus of much work for the Facilities Management Section. New fencing, concrete, HVAC system, emergency back up generator, and grids and ceilings were installed at Troop 1. At the Training Academy, a new HVAC system, duct work, showers, insulation in the attic, grids and ceilings, and fire sprinkler system were installed. Likewise, asbestos and a large 200 gallon galvanized tank from the boiler room were removed.
